poetry project #1: hole in my soul

i tried to kill myself today
inside my own mind
the pain tore a hole
right through my soul
now the demons won't stop pouring out
i tried to mend the cut
with cocaine blues
and stream-lined alcohol
but they just seemed to
instigate the pain
now i'm empty
staring right through my shell
the demons took everything
and left me here to die
i should be happy
i brought this upon myself
